This quarter-sawn, mission oak desk, designed by Charles Limbert, dates to the early 1900’s and is in exceptional condition. Charles P. Limbert (1854–1923) was an American furniture designer and is considered one of the most successful furniture leaders in the history the Arts and Crafts movement in America. The furniture that bears his name is highly sought after. His designs were mainly inspired by such diverse influences as English Arts and Crafts and Dutch folk furniture. This desk features one full length divided drawer, pencil trough that runs along the back side of the desktop, backsplash in matching quarter-sawn oak, and square legs joined by a stretcher and solid wood under tier. The writing desk would also work as distinctive console table in an entryway or foyer.
